Koh Yao is a part of Phang-nga province. Tourists can choose to travel from either Phuket or Krabi. Distance and time from both provinces are about the same.

Koh Yao covers an area of 137.6 sq.m. consisting of 2 main islands, Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai, and several surrounding islets. Most of the beaches of Koh Yao Noi are located in the west. If you come from Manoh Port, pass the District Administrative Office for around 7 kilometers, you will find Haad Pa Sai, which is a 400-meter-long beach, From here you can watch the scenery of Koh Pak Bia, Koh Hong and sunrise very well. To the north of Haad Pa Sai is Haad Klong Chak and Haad Tha Khao, the two partly stony beaches where is another wonderful beach called Ao Kian located in the north of the island.
